I was born in Monticello and spent my childhood in Elk River, Minnesota. My father was a skilled carpenter, and my mother dedicated her time to raising our family. Our roots run deep in Princeton, where my grandfather served as a police officer after bravely fighting in the Korean War.
As a young child, I experienced life in South Dakota and Wisconsin due to my father's job transfers. These moves taught me the value of adaptability and community. We returned to Minnesota in the mid-1990s, and I graduated from Princeton High School, proud to be back in the place we call home.
After high school, I attended Anoka Ramsey Community College. My career path has been diverse, including roles as a construction laborer, car salesman, and finance manager. These experiences provided me with a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities people face.
Eventually, I found my passion in real estate. Earning my Realtor's license marked the beginning of a fulfilling career, where I’ve had the privilege of helping families achieve the dream of homeownership. Whether it’s guiding tenants toward financial stability or advising potential buyers on fiscal responsibility, my goal has always been to empower others.
My interest in government and public service has been long-standing. In 2013, I ran for a seat on the Baldwin Township Board of Supervisors and lost by just four votes. Two years later, I ran again and won. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and the power of grassroots governance.
As an elected member of the Town Board, I embraced the hands-on nature of local government. From clearing ditches to standing up against unfunded state mandates, I worked hard to serve our community. During my tenure, we successfully opposed unnecessary state demands and kept taxes low while delivering essential services.
In 2018, I was elected Mayor of Princeton, where I served one term. This role further honed my leadership skills and reinforced my commitment to making government work for the people. I fought to reduce wasteful spending and welcomed opportunities for community development.
My journey has been shaped by my deep connection to our community and a commitment to public service. As your County Commissioner, I aim to bring fiscal responsibility, transparency, and development to our county. I believe in an open government where your voice matters, and together, we can create a brighter future for all.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I’m excited about the opportunity to serve you and look forward to working together for a stronger community.
